March 20-24 Spring holidays in Baku, Novruz holiday.

The onset of warmth and the awakening of nature have been widely celebrated by the people since time immemorial. Preparations for the Novruz Bayram holiday, which is included in the UNESCO list of intangible heritage, begin at the end of February and continue throughout March, and from March 19, folk festivities begin throughout the country, which last for several days. Fairs open in the city, people dance and sing in the squares, and people have fun everywhere.
The celebration of Novruz is accompanied by richly laid tables with various national sweets, dried fruits and national dishes. People also visit each other en masse, visit their relatives, close friends and neighbors with gifts. These days, fires are lit in many courtyards and people gather around them, jump over them, play different games (breaking boiled eggs, throwing hats, listening to doors, etc.) An unusual holiday for the whole family. And in each region, city it is held in a special way.
It is very unusual and memorable. And as we know, the best memory is emotional. In addition, gifts-impressions are now at the peak of fashion!

In addition to the holiday, there are many reasons to visit Azerbaijan in the spring.
The first reason is the naturally beautiful and unusual cities such as Baku, Sheki, Ganja, etc. The main Baku is the heart of ancient Azerbaijan, where the east and the west are successfully combined. Where you can walk through the old Asian part of the city, through narrow alleys and pass by old mosques of the 11th-18th centuries, old baths of the 18th century, caravanserais of the 12th-15th centuries and immerse yourself in the old days. And then go, without leaving anywhere, to the European part of the city where there are houses similar to their owners, built during the first oil boom and all in European style. In those days, rich people did not spare money on good architects, even secretly invited them from Europe.
The second reason is the unique architectural religious monuments, Islamic, Christian, Jewish, Zoroastrian, etc. We are also ready to tell you about the traces of 7 monotheistic religions in our country and the seasons do not interfere with us. The third reason is unique natural places, burning earth, mud volcanoes, burning water, the Grand Canyon, ironwood forests, etc.
The fourth reason is amazingly beautiful architectural structures, "Caucasian Petra", "Caucasian Machu Picchu", Caucasian Angkor Wat, etc., which are accessible at any time of the year.
The fifth reason is two ski resorts Tufandag and Shahdag, whose cable cars are used all year round.
The sixth reason is our thermal springs and Naftalan, which are useful at any time of the year.

The eighth reason, my favorite, is our amazing cuisine. After the borders opened, many residents from all over the world got acquainted with our cuisine, as they say, from the original sources, and many were not just amazed by it, but it stuck in their heads for many years.
Few people know, but our summer cuisine differs from our winter cuisine, and very much so..., but think for yourself, 4000 dishes, they need to be divided somehow.
